Mark Zuckerberg is Now the Sixth Richest Person in the World

While many of us are concerned about how we’re going to afford next month’s rent, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t have such worries (probably never had). He is now the sixth richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index. His net worth reportedly soared overnight, bringing him to a perfectly acceptable $47 billion.

The Facebook CEO is now worth an estimated $47.5 bn after his fortune rose $6 bn in trading on Thursday, according to Bloomberg. This is $1.5 bn higher than the estimated net wealth of the Koch brothers.

Bloomberg’s data suggests that Zuckerberg has even surpassed the likes of Charles and David Koch, two billionaire moneybags notorious for their contributions to the Republican political party. Zuckerberg now more closely trails other tech entrepreneurs such as Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, though he still has a long ways to go if he expects to exceed Gates’ net worth of $78 billion.

This news coincides with Facebook’s 10-percent stock surge, which resulted in sales of $5.8 billion for the quarter and $18 billion for the 2015 fiscal year in general. This hugely exceeded Wall Street’s estimates, mainly because it wasn’t expected that mobile advertisements would prove so lucrative for the social media proprietor. In fact, S&P Capital IQ analysts only predicted revenue of $5.37 billion for its Q4 2015 earnings.

This news comes a little less than two months after Zuckerberg and his wife, after giving birth to their baby daughter, revealed their plans to give 99 percent of Facebook’s shares to a charity with the goal of “advancing human potential and promoting equality.” At the time, the shares were priced at a still-grandiose $45 billion.

BlackBerry has finally launched its secure Android-powered smartphone in India called Priv. After the struggling BB10 OS-based smartphones, it is BlackBerry’s yet another attempt to capture the smartphone market, but this time with Android OS, which would take care of the app gap that has plagued BlackBerry OS.

BlackBerry smartphones have always been known for physical QWERTY keyboards and with the Priv, the company has included a slide-out keyboard. The company has also included addons such as BB Hub, BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), BlackBerry Device Search, DTEK by BlackBerry warning system, BlackBerry Notes and BlackBerry Password Keeper on top of Android.

Priced at Rs. 62,990, the BlackBerry Priv will be available via Amazon India and offline retail stores from Saturday (30th Jan ).

It flaunts a 5.4-inch WQHD (2560x1440pixels) AMOLED display with curved edge screen, which is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor (1.8GHz dual-core Cortex-A57, and 1.44GHz quad-core Cortex-A53) coupled with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 418 GPU. It comes with 32GB of onboard storage, which is expandable by up to 2TB via a microSD card.

For photography, the BlackBerry Priv sports an 18 MP rear camera is wt the rear with OIS, PDAF, dual LED flash and 4K video recording. A 2 MP front camera is also board and offer HD video recording. 

The smartphone is powered by a 3,410mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 2.0. Connectivity options include LTE, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi Direct. BlackBerry Priv runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition with Intel Z3590 chip and Priced at Rs. 29,999; Specification and Features

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition With Intel Z3590, 128GB Storage Goes Official Asus has unveiled a new variant of the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition featuring an Intel Z3590 processor under the hood. The new variant of the Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe has been listed on the company's official website. As of now, no pricing or availability details have been revealed about the handset.

This Smartphone Price 64GB variant Rs. 22,999 and 128GB variant Rs. 29,999. 

The new version of the device has a 2.5GHz (Intel Atom Z3590) quad-core processor compared to the 2.3GHz (quad-core Intel Atom Z3580) unit in the device we talked about in November. Lenovo Vibe X3 launched in India Price at Rs. 19,999

Lenovo has launched its Vibe X3 smartphone in India, which will be the company's flagship device in the market.

The phone has powerful stereo speakers up front. It is equipped with three Texas Instruments OPA1612 amplifiers with Turbo Hi-Fi stereo enhancement mode to offer audiophile quality output, without needing a DAC (digital-to-analog converter). Also present is a Cirrus Logic WM8281 codec for noise cancellation, Dolby Atmos certification for surround sound effects.

The Phone also support Lenovo's TheaterMax feature that works with the optional ANTVR headset for big screen experience for your movies or games. The headset will be sold separately for Rs 1299.

Lenovo Vibe X3 will go on sale tomorrow on Amazon India at 2pm IST. The price is Rs 19,999.

Opera Mini browser gets support for 13 Indian languages

There is some good news for Indian mobile users this Republic Day. Opera Mini, the popular mobile browser, has announced its first update with support for 90 global languages including 13 from India.

The 13 Indian languages include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. The company says that the language list will be sorted based on the popularity at the user’s location. So for a user in Odisha, Oriya and Hindi will be listed towards the top.

This means the browser support will extend beyond languages that are natively supported by Android, as was the case till now. Users will be prompted to select a language the first time they use the updated version of the browser.

“We are continuing our efforts to bring the internet to as many people as possible, not only by making it possible to access the internet on low-bandwidth networks with our compression technology, but also by making sure that our browser is easy for anyone to use and understand. The improved language support is an important part of our efforts,” said Christian Uribe, Product Manager for Opera Mini, in a release.

 In addition to the language support, Opera Mini for Android also gets an improved download manager and a new QR-code reader and generator. The company has said before that download managers are one of the most sought-after features for users in India.

The update brings improvements to speed and stability of downloads. The last update released in December, introduced the ability for users to control the number of files that can be downloaded simultaneously. Post the update, the download manager would alert users when downloading files over 15MB in size.

Lastly, the browser now gets its own QR-code reader and generator. Users can use their smartphone’s camera to read and interpret any QR-code. As for the generator, you can create a QR-code for any webpage and share it with others.

Microsoft Office for iOS gets support for 3D Touch

Microsoft has updated its Office iOS apps to offer support for both 3D Touch things that should help users edit and create documents quickly and easily.

Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were all given 3D Touch shortcuts, with users simply having to hold down on the app icons on the home screen to see a quick access menu. From these menus, users can quickly create new documents, as well as access recently opened files.

Users are also now able to use the iOS 9 Spotlight feature to search for recent documents, meaning that users won't first have to open either Word, PowerPoint or Excel to find these documents.

Users can download the latest version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Phones and iPads on the App store for free. 

Lenovo K5 Note With 5.5-Inch Display, Metal Body Launched

Lenovo, within few weeks of unveiling the Vibe K4 Note, has now launched the K5 Note smartphone in China. Priced at CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs. 11,350), the Lenovo K5 Note will be going up for sale in the company's homeland. Similar to the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note, the K5 Note will be also sold via a flash sale model but will be available only in China.

Unfortunately, the company has so far not revealed any details about the launch of the Lenovo K5 Note outside China.

The K5 Note sports a 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS display and is powered by a Mediatek Helio P10 SoC with 64-bit octa-core processor and Mali-T860 GPU. It has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. On the camera front, the handset features a 13MP unit in the front and an 8MP shooter at the back. It packs in a 3,500mAh battery that supports fast charging and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI on top.

Other features include a fingerprint scanner on the back that can be used to make payments as well as capture photos. The K5 Note offers support for dual-SIM, 4G LTE, as well as VoLTE. It also features a 1.5W speaker on the rear with Dolby Atmos surround sound effect.

The design of the K5 Note looks completely different when compared with the K4 Note. There are no front-facing dual speakers here. Furthermore, the K5 Note sports an all-metal body while the K4 Note had a plastic back. The specs are slightly different as well. The new K5 Note comes with the newly launched Mediatek Helio P10 SoC. However, the RAM here is at 2GB whereas the K4 Note had 3GB.

It is possible that the K5 Note will be exclusive to China much like the K4 Note is to India. The handset is available in Gold and Silver color.

Lenovo Vibe X3 India launch on January 27

Last week we reported that Lenovo was planning on launching the Vibe X3 in India on January 27. Over the weekend, the company confirmed the launch date with a teaser on its Facebook account.

Samsung might be working on a Galaxy A9 Pro: Report

The upcoming smartphone may or may not be called the Galaxy A9 Pro but it will definitely be a higher end handset than the current flagship smartphone in the Galaxy A series.

SamMobile, citing reliable sources in Samsung, has revealed that development of the device, codenamed SM-A9100, has begun in China. The phone will most likely be named Galaxy A9 Pro.

The Galaxy A9 Pro will be meant for the Chinese market and we aren’t sure whether it will come out in other markets. We aren’t sure of the improvements it will have over the Galaxy A9 either. Perhaps the Pro model will introduce a higher resolution display and/or more RAM.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro may come with a 6 inch QHD - based screen and probably house 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box.

For the uninitiated, the original Galaxy A9 model sports 6.0-inch full-HD display and ships with a fingerprint sensor, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 652 Octa-core SoC (System-on-Chip), 3GB RAM, 32GB in-built storage and a massive 4000 mAh battery. So, expect Samsung to bump up the hardware features in the Pro version.

In a related development, Samsung is expected to soon unveil the company's flagship Galaxy S7 series next month at Galaxy Unpacked 2016 either on 20 February ahead of MWC 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.

Asus Zenfone 3 specifications and features revealed via GFXBench site

After unveiling the Zenfone 2 at CES last year, all eyes are now set on Asus’ upcoming Zenfone 3 series. Prior to the official release, the Zenfone 3 smartphones have been spotted on a benchmark website, giving us a glimpse at some of their specifications and features.

Two Asus ZenFone 3 models dubbed Z010DD and Z012D have been listed on the GFXBench listing.

According to the GFXBench listing, the Asus Z010DD features a 5.9-inch HD display; sports a 12-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera. The handset is seen packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clubbed with 3GB of RAM clubbed with 32GB of storage. The listing claims that the Asus Z010DD runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will possible feature ZenUI on top.

The Asus Z012D, on the other hand, is seen listed with a 5.5-inch full-HD display and is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of storage and much like the Z010DD, the Asus Z012D is also listed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The GFXBench listings were first reported by Pocket Now.

While the two listings don’t mention, the Zenfone 3 are also expected to feature a fingerprint scanner as is the norm with mid-range and flagship smartphones these days. Additionally, Asus chairman Jonney Shih has also all but confirmed that the Zenfone 3 will feature an USB Type-C port.

Share messages across any instant messaging app with n-gage

Instant messaging app n-gage launched its service in India to allow users to share content with competing platforms like WhatsApp and Viber, a move aimed at tapping into the booming mobile Internet user base in India.

"Developing the app has been a two year journey. The platform ensures security of users through the various features and at the same time, availability of the desktop version ensures that those without smartphones can use the platform," n-gage founder and CEO Ajit Patel told PTI. He, however, declined to comment on the number of users the company aims to garner.

According to reports, WhatsApp tops the list of instant messaging (IM) apps in India. India accounts for a huge chunk of its about one billion global user base. The reports suggest that mobile chatting apps like Hike, LINE and Viber have grown manifold in the last few years, in line with the burgeoning mobile Internet user vbase and falling data charges.

Similar to rival messaging apps like WhatsApp and Viber, n-gage's platform allows users to send and receive messages, pictures and videos. In addition, it allows users to send encrypted messages to others (password protected or timed), delete messages after they are sent as well as disable others from taking screenshots of conversations.

"The messages can be shared on other platforms as well. However, the receiver can respond only if they have n-gage," he said. Asked about the monetisation model, Patel said the focus right now is on getting users over revenues. The company is also working on bringing in a version for enterprises for employee communication.

Users can also make video calls with n-gage across other platforms be it one-on-one or group video calls. You can create groups of up to 300 participants from their contact lists to start multiple conversations under one group. In addition, it also comes with a ‘Translate’ feature which allows users to instantly translate their incoming and outgoing messages in over 45 languages.

Apple launches New Music Memos App for musicians, updates GarageBand too

Apple has unveiled a new app called Music Memos for iPhones, iPads and iPod touch. It’s a free app available for devices running on iOS 9.1 and above. The app aims to make it easier for musicians to record their ideas and inspirations.

Music Memos is a development of Voice Memos, the app that already allows people to record short audio messages on their iPhone. The new app adds features like higher quality recordings, the ability to tag information — and a feature that can analyse the recordings and instantly add drums and other instruments.

Those smart tools are the headline feature of the app, and Apple claims that it will allow people to quickly develop music from ideas into songs. The app is also able to analyse the chords that are being played and show them in notation, for instance.

The new version of GarageBand brings a new interface that arranges songs into collections of cells, triggering loops and samples in a similar way to DJ hardware. It also adds the drummer feature that is available on the desktop, which can intelligently add drum tracks to songs by analysing what is being played.

“Sometimes ideas come faster than I can get them into my notebook so I've used Voice Memos and Notes to quickly capture songs before they're lost. Music Memos is like if those two apps came together to form some kind of superpower for songs,” said Ryan Adams. 

“It quite literally blew my mind how Music Memos could transform a single guitar idea into a whole composition with a virtual drummer loose enough that it felt like you were having your mind read by some A.I. musician and a choice of stand-up or electric bass accompaniments.”

These music memos will also be synched across Apple devices through iCloud and can be opened using more complex composition programs such as GarageBand and Logic Pro X. Tracks can also be shared to Apple Music Connect, Sound Cloud and YouTube directly from the app.

Apple iPhone 6s Gets a Big Price Cut, 128GB variant now available for Rs 62,000

Apple’s iPhone 6s has received another major price cut. The 128GB Space Grey variant of the smartphone is now available on Amazon for Rs 62,000, approximately Rs 20,000 down from the launch price. It may be recalled that the iPhone 6s had launched at starting price of Rs 62,000 (for 16GB version). Amazon is selling the basic model of the iPhone 6s for Rs 46,199.

Currently, Flipkart is selling the 128 GB variant of the iPhone 6s for Rs 74,795. The smartphone is available for Rs 73,900 on Snapdeal. Though on Paytm, you can grab the 128GB model for Rs 62,900 with a promo code that gives you a cashback of Rs 10,000.

It is perhaps second major price cut for the new iPhones. Following reports of lukewarm response to the new iPhones,e-commerce sites had dropped the prices by approximately 20 percent. Back in December, the 128GB variant of iPhone 6s was available for Rs 75,990.

How To Install Remix OS 2.0 on your PC Step by Step

Remix OS 2.0 (Lollipop 5.1)brings the lovely Android experience to your computer system. It is based on the Android OS & is completely different from the already existing Emulators.

Step 1: 

DownloadRemix OS 2.0 and Remix OS USB Installer.

This link has the files which can be downloaded using Free Download Manager or any other Torrent Client and can’t be downloaded using the Download manager in any browser. So if you don’t have torrent client on your PC, Download uTorrent and Install it before downloading this.

Step 2: 

Make sure you get a USB 3.0 has a minimum capacity 8 GB and a recommended write speed of 20 Mbps or better.

Format the USB Drive and Change the Format to FAT32

Step 3: 

After starting the tool, you will have to select the ISO file and the drive where you want to install the ISO File. You might think of extracting the ISO file directly to the USB, but that won’t help because this tool also makes the USB bootable.

Step 4: 

So the Remix OS USB tool has two fields, in one field you are supposed to add the path of the ISO File on your computer system & select the USB disk on which this tool will install the OS.

Install Remix OS - Bootable USBSelect the ISO file of the Remix OS which you’ve downloaded from the Step 1 and the USB Disk where you want to install the Remix OS 2.0. Once done, The Remix OS USB tool will begin it’s working, It will start copying files & writing the Bootloader to the USB Drive.

This process might take time, depending on the read and write speed of your computer system, It is recommended to stop doing other tasks while these files are being copied, because on slow computer systems, you might notice lags. Once it is completed, go ahead and follow the next step.

Depending on your BIOS, the Boot menu keys are different, so make a Google search “Laptop Brand Model Shortcut for Boot Menu” for the Key combinations to get into the Boot menu during the start.

Boot menu list of devices from which you can boot, You will have to select your USB Drive.

The Remix OS 2.0 has two modes of installation, you can use “Guest mode” or “Resident mode”. Guest mode is for the one’s who are willing to test it and are not sure about using the OS again. It won’t store any of your tasks, data nor the app installations. Once you reboot you will lose all the data.

The Resident mode will format the USB which has the live CD on it, But it will save all the details and changes you make to the Remix OS. That’s the reason why it takes 5-15 minutes based on the “System Configuration” and once getting into Resident mode you won’t have to install the Remix OS again and again!

Select the language like English, Chinese than after click Next button.

Samsung Gear VR launched in India Priced Rs 8,200

Samsung has launched its Gear S2 smartwatch and Gear VR headset in India. While the Gear VR headset will cost Rs 8,200.

Samsung Gear VR which helps to provide “next level” mobile entertainment experience.

“The Gear VR presents the unique opportunity for consumers to get an immersive, interactive Virtual Reality experience. Samsung will be at the forefront of this exciting revolution to create further ‘wow’ moments in our consumers’ lives,” Mr. Sharma added.

The Samsung Gear VR headset is powered by Oculus and lets users experience movies, shows in 3D. The Gear VR weighs 310 grams, 19 per cent lighter than the Innovator Edition launched earlier. It is compatible with Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, S6 and S6 Edge. Netflix will be accessible via Samsung Gear VR headset.

Samsung Gear S2, Gear S2 Classic Smartwatches Launched in India Starting Rs. 24,300

Samsung India, as expected, on Thursday launched its Gear S2 smartwatch in India. Priced at Rs. 24,300, the smartwatch will be available via Samsung physical retail channels starting Thursday. Samsung also launched the Gear S2 Classic edition, priced at Rs. 25,800. Both variants will be exclusively available on Flipkart.

One of the talking points of the Gear S2 is its gorgeous design, which unlike most smartwatches out there (including Apple Watch) boasts a circular design. It also doesn’t come with a flat tyre dead zone seen on the Motorola Moto 360 and makes use of all the space. As for the variants, Samsung says that the Gear S2 is ‘ideal for those who are on-the-go and have an admiration for minimal and modern design’. The Gear S2 classic, on the other hand, is for users ‘who prefer a more timeless watch design’.

While the Gear S2 supports touch inputs, what sets it apart from other smartwatches is an intuitive rotating bezel. This bezel can be used to navigate the user interface, while the two physical buttons on the side can be used to go ‘one step back’ and the other to ‘launch the app drawer’.

Another differentiating factor is the operating system, which is yet another example of how Samsung is distancing itself from Google. Instead of running on Android Wear, it runs on the homegrown Tizen OS. There are basic apps to keep you notified of emails, text messages, news, calendar events and fitness related activities. But one will miss out on the growing number of third-party apps available on Google’s operating system.

Samsung Gear S2, Gear S2 Classic specifications and features: 

Both variants feature the same set of internals and are only differentiated on their design. So what you get is a 1.2-inch (360×360 pixels) circular dial with Super AMOLED display, and a 1GHz dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM underneath. On the storage front, there is 4GB inbuilt memory available.

The Gear S2 also features a 250mAh battery, which Samsung says is good enough to last 2-3 days. This is impressive considering the Apple Watch needs to be charged at the end of each day. There is also a heart rate monitor, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, and connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11n, NFC and Bluetooth 4.1.

LeEco Le Max launched with 6.33-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 810 Processor : Price, specifications and features

LeEco aka LeTv today launched the Le Max in India. It will be available in two variants – gold color 128GB internal storage variant and a silver colored 64GB internal storage variant, with prices starting from Rs 32,999. The smartphone will be exclusively available via Flipkart on February 16, with registrations for the first sale starting today.

Founded in 2004, LeEco has become a major name in many technology-centric markets. LeEco offers live-streaming, e-commerce, cloud, smartphones, TV set-top boxes, and smart TVs among other products and services.

A sapphire-display edition with 128GB and a Pink colour variant will also be made available in limited quantities of 1,000 units, priced at Rs. 69,999.

LeEco Le Max specifications and features:

It flaunts a 6.33-inch 2K (1440×2560 pixels) display with pixel density of 464ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM, dual-SIM card.

Le Max, features a fingerprint scanner at the back, just below the primary camera.

The smartphone features a 21-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), Sony IMX230 sensor, dual-LED flash, and an f/2.0 aperture lens, alongside a 4-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The One Max also sports a fingerprint sensor placed below the rear camera, besides Wi-Fi Display connectivity.

Other specifications include a 3400mAh battery; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with hotspot support, Bluetooth 4.1 with APT-X support, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and 4G LTE connectivity; infra-red remote control, electronic compass, hall sensors, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. It features a USB 2.0 Type-C port and MHL 2.0.

Le supports a reversible USB Type-C with fast-charging SpeedVolt technology that can offer 3.5 hours of playback on a charge of just 5 minutes.

It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under EUI.

The company says an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the smartphones will likely be made available in March-April.

LeEco (formerly known as LeTV) today marks its entry into the Indian market with the launch of the Le 1s. The LeEco Le 1s is priced at Rs 10,999. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Flipkart via flash sales on February 2, with registrations kicking off today.

It boasts a full-metal unibody and Fingerprint Scanner. The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display. It is powered by a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, there is 32GB available, but not expandable memory.

On the photography front, the Le 1s is equipped with a 13-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with PDAF and 4K video recording capabilities, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with up to 85 degree wide angle lens. It also features a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging (five minutes charging gives up to 3.5 hours of usage).

Connectivity options include dual-SIM (Micro + Nano-SIM) card slots, 4G LTE support, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop wrapped under the EUI skin.

The company says an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the smartphones will likely be made available in March-April.
