HoloLens

HoloLens is one of the coolest products Microsoft has developed over the past several years and now its ready for prime time. Microsoft said that the developer edition of HoloLens is shipping out right now, although this is not something that most consumers will be able to buy for themselves. Rather, this version of the HoloLens sells for $3,000 and is targeted toward developers at businesses and government organizations who are curious about creating new applications for mixed reality platforms.

NASA announced that it will use HoloLens to help give visitors at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex a chance to take a virtual tour of Mars. We cant wait to see some of the other amazing applications that developers create for this incredible augmented reality headset.

Skype

Skype update that brings video messages, emojis and Cortana integration within the app. Called Skype Bots, Microsoft introduces new ways to bring expertise, products and services into the Skype messaging app. With Skype Bots, the software giant aims to enhance your Skype experience with.

To begin with, the Skype app now comes with support for visual video message feature, which also shows the transcript right below it. The personal assistant Cortana is always present on the top right corner and it now highlights the key points in the message. You can even go ahead to schedule calendar appointments and more.

While you are into a Skype conversation, Cortana can also bring up information cards, without you having to exit the app. It brokers the conversation with a third-party bot. Using Skype and Cortana, businesses can easily interact with their customers. For instance, a fast food restaurant can have bots to ask customers about their location and if they would want to track the order. It will also display the estimated time of delivery, right within the Skype chat.

Right from within the app, users can also plan a trip by asking Cortana to block the calendar. For instance, users can say, “please block my calendar on March 31 for ICC World T20 in Mumbai.” After blocking the date, Cortana will proactively suggest nearby hotels for stay and allow the hotel bot to interact with you and book a hotel room.

Cortana will also suggest you to connect with a friend who might live in the destination you’re travelling to. That’s not all; she can even message your friend about the dates, if you’re too lazy to type that.

This new feature will be available for developers to create bots, and for customers to try it out.
