Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime with S Power Planning and S Secure mode launched in India: Price, Specifications and features


Samsung has announced two new smartphones today for the Indian market, the Galaxy J7 Prime and the Galaxy J5 Prime. The Galaxy J7 Prime was recently introduced in Vietnam, and its Indian pricing was leaked last week. The Galaxy J5 Prime, however, is a brand new device. 

Both smartphones will be available in Dynamic Black and Dynamic Gold Color.

The Galaxy J7 Prime is priced at Rs 18,790 and is already available for purchase. The Galaxy J5 Prime costs Rs 14,790 and will hit the shelves by September end.

The Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime pack features like the S Bike mode and ultra data saving (seen on all Galaxy J series smartphones). 

Samsung has introduced two new features called S Power Planning and S Secure with the new devices.  The S Power feature helps on saving smartphones battery when it’s really low. It has three options –  reserve battery for calls,  extended battery time and forward calls when no battery. The S Secure mode has a secure folder,  lock and hide apps option and a secure WiFi option.

The company has also detailed a Vodafone bundled data offer for Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime customers, wherein they pay for 1GB of data and get 9GB of data free over three months.

Both smartphones come with fingerprint scanners. Both Smartphone run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. On a connectivity, dual SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB (with OTG). 

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Specifications and features 

The smartphone bears a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4, and runs on a 1.6GHz octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

The Galaxy J7 Prime features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, while there is an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/1.9 aperture also on board. The smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) - to note, the Galaxy J7 (2016) only supports microSD cards up to 128GB in capacity. It is powered by a 3300mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime Specifications and features

Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime has a smaller 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and runs on a 1.4GHz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Galaxy J5 Prime features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, while there is an 5-megapixel front camera with an f/1.9 aperture also on board. The smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). It is powered by a 2400mAh battery.
