Nokia 3, 5 and 6 to go on sale in India in June 15

Under HMD Global’s wings, Nokia has been making headlines as it re-entered the smartphone market this year. Nokia unveiled the redux 3310 feature phone at the MWC 2017, along with the global edition of Nokia 6, the Nokia 3 and the Nokia 5 smartphones. Nokia launched the 3310 in India this month with its first sale going live on May 18. As the wait continues with the Nokia 3, 5 and 6, the Finnish company has confirmed that the smartphones will launch globally in June.

This piece of information comes straight from Nokia as a reply to a query on Twitter. Krishna Gutte going by the Twitter handle iamkrishna08 asked Nokia when the Nokia 6 smartphone will launch in India. Nokia replies saying that it will be releasing their products globally in the coming months (May-June). With the month of May ending today, it’s obvious that the smartphones would launch in June. Although a definite time and list of markets weren’t mentioned, there has been confirmation from before that the Nokia smartphones will make it to India by the second half of 2017.

Furthermore, a recent report by NPU had revealed that the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 would launch in India sometime around June 15. Amongst the three, the Nokia 3 is expected to hit stores first followed by the Nokia 5 and 6. It is also reported that HMD Global would be pricing the three Nokia smartphones aggressively to survive the competitive smartphone market in India. The Nokia smartphones are expected to enter India’s most competitive budget and midrange segment and it remains to be seen how the company would fare.
